Hair loss can affect anyone, regardless of gender, with varying symptoms and severity.
Male Pattern Baldness
Male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia), is the most common type of hair loss in men. It often starts with a receding hairline or thinning at the crown, leading to partial or complete baldness. It affects approximately 50% of men by the age of 50.
Female Pattern Baldness
Female pattern hair loss is characterized by a gradual thinning of hair over the crown and widening of the center part. It rarely leads to complete baldness but can cause significant hair volume reduction. It affects around 40% of women by the age of 50.

Hair Transplant
FUE hair transplantation is a microsurgical method of transferring healthy hair follicles from donor areas to targeted regions affected by hair loss. This technique is particularly effective in treating androgenetic alopecia. For suitable candidates, it is a great way to restore a more youthful and rejuvenated hairline, or to conceal thinning areas on the crown of the head.
What to Expect
FUE hair transplantation is a microsurgical method of transferring healthy hair follicles from donor areas to targeted regions affected by hair loss. Am I A Candidate?
A good hair transplant candidate is someone who is currently suffering from androgenetic alopecia, that a healthy donor site with sufficient follicles and does not have any major medical condition that could potentially complicate the surgery.
Your Consultation
Before your treatment, schedule a one-on-one consultation with our hair restoration doctor for us to identify your current condition, understand your unique concerns and determine if you are a candidate for hair transplant treatment.
During Your Treatment
On the day of surgery, your hair will be shaved and disinfected. Local anesthetic will then be administered to ensure treatment is as comfortable as possible. Grafts will then be harvested from donor site with follicles separated, counted and stored before implanting the grafts on the recipient site.
After Your Treatment
You may experience slight swelling and redness post-transplant that may take 2-3 days to recover and up to a week for your hair to look socially acceptable. Our team will brief you on specific things to avoid to encourage recovery and prevent grafts from dislodging in the first week post-treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will people know I have had a hair transplant procedure?
Our hair transplant is a minimally invasive procedure that is virtually undetectable. Unlike previous methods of hair restoration, there is no need for the surgical removal of a strip of scalp from the back and sides of the head. So, there is no linear scar after surgery, and no need for stitches or staples to close the wound. The benefit is a significantly shortened recovery time
Do I have to shave my head to have a hair restoration procedure?
With both the ARTAS® iX Robotic Hair Restoration System and the NeoGraft, the FUE method can be done by getting a short trim.
Trimming your hair in the donor area allows the ARTAS® iX system to accurately visualize, track, and harvest each grouping of hairs. You will receive detailed instructions from our doctor on the required length your hair needs to be before the procedure.
Does the hair restoration procedure hurt?
As part of the procedure, the scalp is locally anesthetized until numb. If you still feel any pain during the procedure, a physician will decide if it’s necessary to administer additional anesthesia to reduce discomfort. The patient typically feels no pain. Some patients can experience minor
discomfort and swelling post-procedure, which subsides in one to three days.
How soon will I see results?
Transplanted hair grows naturally in phases. New hairs are seen about three months after the procedure and will continue to increase over the course of a full year. In approximately six months, you will enjoy a noticeable improvement and after a full year, you will see full results. However, individual results and timelines may vary for each patient.
How long will the hair last?
While hair loss may not necessarily stop after transplantation, the procedure uses your own permanent growing hair, typically from the back of your head, and your physician then implants this hair to the thinning areas of your scalp. As this hair might not be susceptible to the conditions that cause male pattern baldness, transplanted hair will typically last a lifetime. Your doctor will be able to assess your treatment options and discuss what you can expect.
